Christmas Fun

Our church put on their 2nd annual “Breakfast with Santa” as an outreach to our community.  It is always a lot of fun.  They have several stations set up:  a huge pancake breakfast, a place to decorate gingerbread men, make your own hot chocolate, write a letter to Santa, make reindeer food, and make arts and crafts.  It is a whole lot of fun!

Leighton was so excited for her school program.  Her class sang “Jingle Bells”.  She told me for two weeks leading up to the program that the song she was singing was a surprise.  Every day she would ask me what song I thought she was singing and I would guess various ones.  She would say, ” I may be singing Jingle Bells….but I may not be singing Jingle Bells.  Mom, do you think I’m singing Jingle Bells?  I’m really not, but maybe so.”  It was hilarious! She is at such a funny stage right now!  She got up on stage and had her little embarrassed look on her face…she was darling!

Next up on the Christmas fun list was Leighton’s preschool party.  They decorated cookies and had a book exchange.

Caroline was excited for her Christmas party as well!  They decorated cookies, did a craft and had a book exchange.  Caroline was very sweet to let little sister Leighton participate in all of the festivities!

After Caroline’s party we all walked down the hall to Carter’s class party.  He decorated cookies and had a puzzle exchange.  They played a funny game where you tie a shoe box around your waist (with a hole cut out in the top of it) filled with bells.  You had to shake and shimmy to get the bells to fall out of the box…it was pretty funny!

Iced In!

Back at the beginning of December we were iced in for 4 DAYS!  It was great for the first 2 days…by day 3 we were getting restless…by day 4 we were going CRAZY!!  There wasn’t any snow….just ICE!! We did take Bandit on a lot of ice walks.  The kids went sledding…we watched a lot of movies…ate a lot…and played games.  The first few days were a nice little break before the craziness of Christmas began.
