Christmas in Review

We are truly blessed by having such an awesome family that we love spending time with!  To begin with we celebrated Christmas with The Woodwards…

The boys waiting on their gift…

They each got a nerf gun…

The boys attacking Ben…

Granddad loving on Leighton…

The next night the 5 of us celebrated by touring the Towne Center…looking at lights…eating dinner…and eating dessert!  We came home and let the kids open one present…

Tuesday the 22nd we drove to Oklahoma to celebrate with Nanna and Poppi…

The first family picture of the 5 of us…

The ONLY thing on Carter’s list…everything else he wanted was “surprises”…

Caroline got a jewelry box full of jewelry…

Leighton’s newest trick….SMILING!!

We woke up on Christmas Eve to a blizzard!!  It was absolutely beautiful…

that evening we opened presents with all of our cousins…

Christmas morning all of the children ran into the living room to see what Santa had brought…

Carter got a bed tent

Caroline got a bicycle

There were 22 of us that spent Christmas together…eating…talking…playing games…eating…watching movies…eating…spending the night together. Yes, 22 of us spent the night in one house:)!!  We are blessed beyond measure to call our family members our best friends!!

Cousins are forever…

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family!

Holiday Shoppe

Today at Carter’s school he got to go “Christmas shopping” for his family members.  We had given him money to pick out something for each of us.  He was pretty excited to say the least.  Ben picked him up from school and his teacher told Ben, “This sweet boy picked out some great gifts for all of you!”  Carter was so excited he could hardly wait to get home.  He had Ben, Caroline, and Leighton all sit in a circle and hold hands as he handed out his gifts (I was at work).

This is what he picked out for Ben…

Ben has had a nutcracker collection since he was a little boy…we probably have 20 of them and Carter wanted to add to it!

This is what he got me…

…a cook book!!  He said there were 2 to choose from and this was the best one because it had more desserts to choose from.  He said, “Mom, I told my teacher how much you like to cook!” (I’m glad he thinks so)

This is what he got Caroline…

…a duck to play with in the bath.  He told Caroline, “I know you don’t have very many toys to play with in the bathtub”.  She said, “You’re right Carter…I only have 3 toys to play with in the bath…that’s not very many!”

This is what he got for Leighton…

…a squishy ball “for when she gets older”

Of course he had to pick out something for himself as well…

Thank you God for this sweet boy…thank you for his tender and giving heart!

Leighton is 2 months old!

My sweet little doll is 2 months old!  She truly brings so much joy to our family.  She is such a content little girl…happy all the time!  She is sleeping 8 hours at night!  She weighs 11 pounds and is in the 75% in weight and height. She is beginning to smile and coo…which is so adorable.  We are definitely savoring every minute with her.

Caroline is finally wanting to hold Leighton.  Up until now Caroline was afraid she would “hurt” Leighton…now she is brave and holds her and forces her pacifier in her mouth.  She is a little momma…covers her with blankets…gives her baths.

This is how you can usually find Caroline…lying next to Leighton…2 inches from her face:)…so sweet!!

The three munchkins watching Little Bear!!
