Basketball Season

We are LOVING basketball season this year.  Ben is coaching Carter’s team…the Vipers.  The boys are almost all from his school…which has been really fun getting to know them and their parents.  Carter has really come out of his shell…he is aggressive, confident, and having a whole lot of FUN!  We have only played 2 games…and the kids are improving! (must be  good coaching)

New Years Eve

The week after Christmas, Ben’s sister Emily and her family came to visit from San Diego.  We had so much fun getting to hang out with them.  My kids LOVE playing with their girls.  We saw lots of movies…played at the park…and enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Leighton and Norah…at the park

New Years Eve we got babysitters for all the kiddos and went to dinner at Brio’s!  We then went back to Mark and Sherry’s and played games.

So glad that our good friend April could come to dinner with us!

Caroline and Olivia were the best of friends while they were here…

The cousins that were still awake at midnight…

Our first Christmas celebration was with the Woodward side of the family.  We celebrated at Mimi and Grandad’s house with dinner and presents.

Leighton with her “computer”…

Caroline with her “press dough”…

Each boy got a remote control helicopter…

A couple of days before Christmas we let the kids each open a present from us.  They had been eyeing and shaking their present under the tree for two weeks…and could hardly wait to tear into it!  Afterwards  we lit a fire and cooked up some smores…our favorite!

Leighton having fun on her bilibo chair…

The following pictures are my FAVORITE from Christmas.  This was a lego set that Carter had been REALLY wanting…his reaction was PRICELESS!

Chocolate and Marshmallows…Caroline’s two favorite things!

On the 22nd we packed the car and headed to Oklahoma.  This is ALWAYS a crazy, busy, fun, laughter-filled, late night talking, kids running wild, family time to the MAX!!  This year there were 14 adults and 9 kids in one house!  People are sleeping EVERYWHERE!  Master bedroom alone had 5 adults and 3 kids…so fun!

Caroline got some roller blades!

Nothing better than a Mickey Mouse book…

Carter’s School Party

Carter’s school Christmas party was so much fun this year!  They began by making a cute snowman ornament…and then they got to make an edible snowman…

They were blind-folded and had to draw a snowman…

Carter LOVES for me to come up to his school…I know that won’t last forever:)!

Visit with Santa

The kids had been begging me to go see Santa.  We went to see Santa out at Grapevine Mills Mall, there is never a wait out there during the week.  Leighton kept telling us that she was going to ask Santa for a bouncy ball.  Caroline had a whole list of cooking supplies that she wanted.  Carter was going to ask for a BB Gun and a dog. (This is the 3rd year in a row he has asked for a dog).  I was really curious what Leighton would do when it was her turn to actually sit on his lap.  We got up there and she ran and jumped right onto his lap…it was really cute!  Caroline and Carter stood next to Santa and they all took turns talking to him.

We got into the car and Leighton said, “Hey, Santa didn’t give me a bouncy ball!”  She was really confused…it was complicated trying  to explain that he would visit our house on Christmas Eve and leave presents.  In her little mind she was thinking…I just saw him why wouldn’t he give me what I wanted?
