Halloween Fun!

My kids always love this time of year!  They get all into picking out pumpkins, gourds, and scarecrows to decorate the house with.  They couldn’t wait to carve their pumpkins.  Leighton doesn’t like all of the gooey mess, so she decided to paint hers.  (I’m not sure how I forgot to get a picture of Carter’s pumpkin).

I took the girls to a local fall festival.

Riding a skateboard to knock down some pumpkins was Leighton’s favorite…

Halloween night we went over to Aimee and Philip’s house to let the kids trick-or-treat in their neighborhood.  They always LOVE running around with their cousins.  Because Caroline and Leighton don’t eat candy, they have just as much fun heading back to the house and handing out candy.

Leighton was Ariel, Caroline was a pirate, and Cassie was an “ex-girlfriend”!

Jammies and Heels

Jammies and Heels is our church’s mother/daughter fun night.  They have a lot of arts and crafts, makeup and nail polish stations, decorating cookies, pizza and a movie on the big screen.  You have to be at least 4 years old to attend, so this was Leighton’s first year.   Caroline was excited to show little sis the ropes!  The movie they were showing was The Little Mermaid…Leighton’s VERY favorite!

Leighton LOVED the makeup station!  Free for all, as much makeup as you want to put on!

When Leighton saw this picture, she got embarrassed and wanted to wipe some of it off!

One of the kids favorite days at school is the Storybook Character Parade.  They get to dress up as a character from a book and walk in a parade.  The school brings in different authors to read to the kids…its a day of Literacy.  Caroline went as a pirate from “Jake and the Neverland Pirates”.  Carter went as a ninja from the Magic Tree House series, “Night of the Ninjas”.

Why Do Mosquitos Buzz in People’s Ears?  This was the musical that the 3rd grade did this year.  It was a pretty funny musical about animals in the jungle.  Each class represented a different animal.  Carter was pretty excited to get to play an instrument during the performance.  Here they are singing the song, “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”.

Pumpkin Patch

The girls were invited to a birthday party at a pumpkin patch this year.  They LOVE going to pumpkin patches.   They explored the pumpkin patch, went on a hay ride to feed the animals, and walked through a corn maze.  It was a chilly, yet beautiful morning!  Fun was had by all!

Leighton turns 4!

Sweet little Leighton turned 4!  Seriously, how can it be?  My last little munchkin is growing up!  After celebrating Caroline and Mommy’s birthdays she couldn’t WAIT for her own!  On her actual birthday she woke up to donuts and presents,  Grandad stopped by to bring Leighton a gift, and that night she chose Chuck-E-Cheese for dinner!

Leighton decided a long time ago that she wanted a BUTTERFLY party!  We lucked out with the weather being beautiful so we could have a bounce house/slide in the back yard.  She celebrated with several friends and lots of family.  We painted wooden butterfly’s, glued sequins on paper butterfly’s and did sand art.  (She wanted her party just like sisters!)

Leighton loves getting to see Bailee and Taylor
